NCC is the Indian Military Cadet Corps wings of the Indian Armed Forces. NCC offers training to the students of schools and colleges. This is not compulsory training for all students. The duration of this training program is 3 years.
This training is conducted to develop the interest of students in all three forces; the army, the navy, and the air force of India. NCC offers the platform to the students, so that they could check their abilities to join the Indian Defense Services.
After completion of training and fulfilling of the conditions, the candidate gets the certificate from the NCC. NCC offers three types of certificates-“A” certificate, ”B” certificate, ”C” certificate.
Advantages and benefits of NCC
There are two wings in NCC- The junior wing (JW) and the senior wing (SW). The enrollment period for the training of junior wing is 2 years and for the training of senior wing is 3 years. The trainee will be eligible to get “A” certificate after spending 1-2 year of training in the junior wing and must have attend one training camp. A candidate achieves “B” certificate after attending one training camp and spending 1-2 year in junior wing. To get the “C” certificate, the candidate must got “B” certificate.
NCC 'C' certification offers 10–15 bonus marks in paramilitary forces recruitment i.e. BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB etc. If you have NCC 'C' certificates then your written exam will be waived off for the post of Soldier GD.

NCC was started in our college in the year 1962 with dual objective- not only sensitizing students about various social issues but also contribute to community and strengthen community participation. . The NCC units take part in various initiatives like organizing camps, Swachh Bharat initiatives, blood donation camps, awareness programs on AIDS prevention, Suicides prevention, International Yoga Day, Tree Plantation, Anti- Tobacco rally, Peace Rally etc. connects students with the larger social issues in the community and makes them socially responsible sensitive and thus facilitates in the holistic development.
