SPSS is short for Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, and it’s used by various kinds of researchers for complex statistical data analysis. The SPSS software package was created for the management and statistical analysis of social science data. It was originally launched in 1968 by SPSS Inc., and was later acquired by IBM in 2009.
SPSS enables you to quickly dig deeper into your data, making it a much more effective tool than spreadsheets, databases, or standard multi-dimensional tools for analytics. SPSS Statistics excels at making sense of complex patterns and associations— enabling you to draw conclusions and make predictions. And it’s fast—handling tasks such as data manipulation and statistical procedures in a faster and more efficient way than a spreadsheet.
In order to enhance research capabilities in the State, Chhattisgarh Council for Science and Technology (CGCOST) has supported and facilitated the acquisition of SPSS software at Government D.B. Girls PG College.
As a partner to this Initiative, the College is committed to provide access to its data analysis infrastructure and SPSS software to any researcher affiliated to recognized institutions in Chhattisgarh.
Research scholars and faculty members of any academic institution in the state are welcome to use SPSS for their academic research. Interested researchers may contact the Institute with the credentials and brief description of their intended research.
